Lifesaving SA wishes to advise that as from January 2019 applications for assessment for all awards and retests must be made via the LSA Lifeline. The Lifeline can be accessed from the website www.lifesaving.co.za.
All clubs are requested to ensure that the correct member details as per their identity document supplied, are captured and uploaded into the database prior to any assessment being undertaken for their members. Please ensure all personal details, including contact details, cell phone numbers and addresses are valid and current. The LSA Indemnity and a certified Identity document must be uploaded into the database to verify details. LSA head office will no longer upload or store paper copies of personal Identity Documents or Indemnities.
Candidates undertaking assessments as from January 2019 must provide a valid identity document to the examiners on the day of the assessment for verification against the details printed from the database. Clear certified copies of an identity book, card or passport will be accepted, colour copies preferred but not essential. Should a candidate’s identity document or Indemnity not be found on the LSA database, the whole assessment will be nullified, until such time as this is corrected by the club.
The Applications for Assessment process for clubs is detailed in the attached Club Admin Data Base Manual.
The RCE’s and examiners will assess the candidates as per the LSA protocols and the results will be captured into the database upon completion. The signed assessment work card will be uploaded into the database for future access by LSA and the Club. The original signed form is to be submitted to LSA for record keeping as per normal protocols.
Clubs requiring administrative access to the database must please contact Janelle Naidoo on headoffice@lifesaving.co.za.
Proof of assessment will be accessible to view and print from the database under the awards tab.
Yours in lifesaving
