Please be advised that as from the 1st January 2021 Lifesaving South Africa will require proof of clearances for criminal, sexual and child protection offences from all those dealing with minors.
Lifesaving South Africa is pleased to inform you that we have partnered with The Guardian to improve the Safeguarding of our members.
The clearances that will apply are those for Criminal Clearances, Sexual Offences Clearance, Child Protection Clearance and will be undertaken by The Guardian.
Please find attached the Safeguarding Policy.
Current police clearances remain valid for their full duration however, members are requested to apply for the Sexual Offences clearance and Child Protection Clearance as soon as is possible in 2021. The Guardian will be available at various events and venues across the country throughout the year. These will be advised via circular and email when applicable.
Please be advised the cost for all 3 clearances is R250 excluding VAT. Members booking their clearances through the LSA head office [email protected] will be charged a reduced rate of R120 excluding VAT for their first clearance.
Members retain the right to obtain these clearances from other suppliers, however this will be for the member’s own account.
Lifesaving South Africa head office will be hosting information sessions with The Guardian in 2021 to inform all clubs, districts and provinces of the Safeguarding processes going forward.
