As indicated to each Club, District and Province on previous communications, Lifesaving SA is working with The Guardian to promote the Safeguarding of our members as required by SASCOC.
Each Club, District and Province is required to have a Designated Safeguarding Officer.
A DSO (Designated Safeguarding Officer) responsibility is to ensure that:
1. Any regulations stipulated in our Safeguarding Policy is met.
2. Any poor practice must be addressed.
3. Safeguard of the Athletes and Coaches, Safeguarding of The Club and Safeguarding of The Federation.
The Guardian will be hosting a Lifesaving SA only Designated Safeguarding Officer Webinar on the 17th and 18th July via Zoom, click on the link below to register for the training:

Please be advised that if your club, district or province has not attended the previous DSO workshops, Lifesaving SA will pay for one DSO to attend the webinar however should you wish to send another DSO the cost would be for the individuals or club’s account.
A Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO) must have their SAC Certificate before they can embark on the intense two-day workshop, please click on the link below to book the SAC exam, get the modules and link for the exam:

Note that this SAC exam must be completed by the 14th July 2021.
The cost of the course and SAC is R1850 + R100 excluding VAT. This will be last webinar that Lifesaving South Africa will pay for the DSOs (who have not previously attended the training/ workshops) to attend the training. Any clubs attending webinar/ trainings held after the weekend of the 17th & 18th July will be the DSO’s/ clubs account.
