World Drowning Prevention Day 2026 Campaign: Unite to Turn the Tide
Dear Members of Lifesaving SA,
Thank you to everyone who joined our webinar on Thursday, 25 June 2026 to discuss World Drowning Prevention Day 2026. We appreciate your time and participation!

This year’s campaign theme is “Unite to Turn the Tide”. It reminds us that everyone has a role to play in preventing drowning and that by working together, we can help reduce drowning deaths by a further 35% by 2035.

We encourage all clubs, districts and Provinces to download the toolkit and use these resources to support your campaigns and events while helping spread this year’s message: Unite to Turn the Tide.

The WHO will host its annual World Drowning Prevention Day webinar on:

The WHO has also asked that photos and videos be emailed to Caroline Lukaszyk at lukaszykc@who.int by 26 July 2026. Selected submissions will be included in a global recap video that will be shown during the WHO flagship webinar and shared through WHO’s campaign channels.
