It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Nico Lamprecht, a member of Marine Surf Lifesaving Club and Durban Surf Lifesaving Club in the morning hours of the 14th of May 2026.
Nico was involved with lifesaving from 1965, past his Surf Proficiency Award in 1965 and his Technical Officials Award in 1969. He held various roles in Durban Surf. He later joined Marine Surf Lifesaving Club served as the Chairman for several years. Nico worked as a teacher at Durban High School for approximately 30 years and later became a school inspector. He was very involved in schools’ water polo and rugby. In his senior years he completed a PhD at KZN University.
